Many people suffer from mild to moderate levels of facial pain, whether it’s from headaches, migraines, stress, their bite or TMJ dysfunction (TMD).
Vassey Dental Partners offers Botox® to help relieve symptoms of TMD, migraine headaches and other facial pain. Our own Dr. Kate Robinson is among the first dentists in the Atlanta area to be credentialed by the Georgia Board of Dentistry to administer Botox®. She completed a Board-approved training course to learn how to safely and effectively administer treatment to our patients.

How Does Botox® Treat TMJ Dysfunction?
The first step is a consultation with the dentist. We will determine whether or not you are a candidate for treatment by evaluating your condition.
Botox® is injected into the affected head and neck muscles. The active ingredient in Botox® blocks nerve signals and relaxes the muscles that contribute to facial pain.
Botox® treatment only takes a few minutes and the results last up to three months. With a series of treatments, some patients will be able to “retrain” their muscles to relax and sustain results over longer periods of time.
As an added benefit, you may notice an improvement in the appearance of wrinkles!
Botox is FDA approved to temporarily treat wrinkles and has been used for cosmetic purposes for nearly 20 years. It is also FDA approved for the temporary relief of headaches and can be used to alleviate TMJ pain.
